Avenged Update And Thomas Edison Insight

This week while at work, a co-worker asked me a thought-provoking question.

"If you could do anything and earn a living doing it, what would you do?" He asked me.

Although my list of passions may run on forever, one item in particular clamoured to the top. Something I have been doing since I was a child. One thing my Grandma Fran always encouraged, from the time I was very small. An ability that feels more like someone else's words than my own sometimes.

Poetry.

Yet this is what I was born to do. I have two poetry compilations coming out in the near future. The first, Avenged: A Poetry Collection, is now available for pre-sale on my blog. I will be sending those who partake a free ticket to the upcoming Book Release Event. For those unable to attend, the book will be rushed out the moment they are available.

This book will be very different from my previous work: Life, Love and Inspiration: A Book of Poetry, because these poems are not those from my childhood and adolescence. They are contemporary and recent poems created with intention and purpose.

The words of Thomas Edison depict my thoughts far better than I can:

"When vocation becomes a vacation, that's when you know you've truly arrived."

That is exactly how I feel when I write poetry.

It is not the first time. My boyfriend came home; and I was in tears. Alarmed, he asked what was wrong. It took me a while before I could answer his question, other than, "nothing bad, nothing bad."

I have been writing poetry all my life. There is part of me that never thought it would ever become my purpose. Growing up, I'd envisioned my purpose would have something to do with working hard, striving to be the best at something and delivering a mighty purpose that was intended for me all my life.

Poetry is something that has been with me all my life, as demonstrated by Life, Love and Inspiration: A Book of Poetry. In some ways, I was disappointed in that display of my work. It definitely was my poetry, but from adolescence as well as early adulthood.

Much of what I wrote then, has very little to do with what is possible now. Today, it's almost as though angels speak to me through words in my mind. Both in times of trouble and in times of growth. Even in times of peace. Yet at the same time, the process of free verse is both refreshing and emotionally cleansing. It provides a huge release to keep me balanced.

The world would gage the time I spent on deciphering my purpose as overkill. Particularly since it's literally been in front of my face for my entire life.

As it turns out, my purpose is more peaceful, calm, tranquil and harmonious than I'd ever envisioned. It is my personal opinion, even the smallest and slightest of purposes is admirable. That opinion finds my circumstances a touch ironic. An individual with a hand in everything, as in my case, it's almost more difficult to scale down and focus on something more calm and refreshing.

Each time I sit to write, the words just come. I'm not even entirely convinced they are my words. Yet they are words that are coming through me for a purpose. It will be exciting to share the finished compilation of my most recent poetry book project, Avenged. In the future, I'll be delighted to share some of the process of writing poetry as it works for me.

Sometimes, I am so touched by the beautiful discoveries within this process, I find myself in tears.

Shaking Vegas' Tree

Las Vegas has been one of my favorite places for years. My first Vegas experience came my way at 12 years old. My Dad brought me along on a business trip. Circus Circus, Excalibur games and Tournament of Kings, my heart had been won.

I escaped to Vegas every chance I got from that point on. Often to meet up with my Dad, to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday, celebrate a few of my own birthdays, attend conferences, party with various friends and as of late, stop in on my way to the Grand Canyon, and as of late- make incredible memories with my Guy.

This visit, we attended the 2012 Shot Show. Encompassing thousands of vendors and multiple thousand attendees, it was a thrill to see so many big guns, explore the new items coming out in the market and reunite with co-workers of the past.

It is always a goal to do some additional reading and writing on my trips, and this trip was no different. Working on multiple projects, including a new writing style I've been developing. Writing is more work than most people envision. Yet I believe it makes me a better, deeper, higher functioning person. Challenging myself to think and articulate thoughts of various sorts is a gift, more to me than anyone else. I'm blessed to have many people who enjoy my writing a well. It is a shared sense of community, filled with great moments, glistening splendid memories.

The Secret To Amazing Life for 4 Years Straight!

It's onto 2012, with lofty aspirations beside me.

Every year my BFF, Shar, and I write our list of 10 things we want to accomplish during the year.

We began this tradition 4 years ago, after watching Rhonda Byrne's movie, The Secret.

We started off by creating dream notebooks rather and visualization boards. While intimidated by the magnificence of the power we held over our own life, once the idea settled in, we embraced it and ran, starting with our 10 resolutions for the year.

It is with these resolutions we have accomplished the following adventures and experiences:

My Mom sent me this incredible video this week about Ben, the 18 year old boy who died on Christmas. He has a very special message about what it was like...cheating Death 3 times.

I could have been a scrooge, it's been a challenging year. Instead I decided not to do Christmas cards and charge into 2012 like it's a combination of saving grace wrapped in Pinkberry. Only I get to teach people how to become independently wealthy and that is particularly awesome.

Make More Money, Now That The Holidays Lit Yours On Fire

Jen Lancaster Bright Lights, Big Ass

You read that title correctly, Bright Lights, Big Ass.

With a title like that- Jen Lancaster has a knack for justifying the naughty yet proper inner dialogue within all women.

This quote about her husband, telling her about a safety threat, had me laughing out loud:

"He went all rubber room and white strappy jacket on me." -Jen Lancaster

Bright Lights, Big Ass hilarious.

However, I think we can all agree, Jen pokes fun at herself a lot concerning her health and body image. Yes, blood pressure and the heart and low cholesterol are important. She frets continually throughout the book, how uncomfortable she is.

If Jen were my client, here are the first steps we would take during a VIP Day:

The first thing is communicate is that Jen is a beautiful person. Her spirit and energy in the world is nothing like anyone else. This makes her unique and she has been successful in transition that unique energy into the power of writing. Way to go, Jen!

I'd ask her what she wants her life to look like. On one hand, having the complex and conflicting feelings give her a lot to write about. On the other, it still has her feeling bummed out and sad sometimes. There is a possibility she doesn't want to change things at all. As a Coach, it's my job to support that goal.

Finding the source of significance that is true north for you is the first step in reaching your goal of being financially more secure, improving the quality of the relationships in your life, or in Jen's case; determining the right steps to achieve a goal where she is excited to be her and at the same time be in a place being bummed or sad isn't on the radar.

Feelings are good, sadness is an emotional to let you know an aspect of your life can work more efficiently. It's my job, as a Coach, to help you figure out what is toying with your emotions. I choose to support my clients in achieving the most happy life possible.

"Please God, Don't Let Me Ever Be As Big An Ass As Hilly Holbrook In The Help "

The Help, by Kathryn Stockett, is astory about the bravery of women uniting together and overcoming theirdifferences for a specific cause. In allhonesty, it had me looking for a cause to fight for. Almost as though my life is not as importantwithout having made such sacrifices as those before us, who took many risks toensure a better future for their children. Yet don't me started on Miss Hilly.

My favorite, more personalized appreciation of the bookcomes from the recent passing of my grandmother. She was raised by a woman who had been born aslave, named Nursie, that her parents hired to tend to her.

It was such a different time back then. Yet I am grateful. My grandmother instilled in me a love for allraces. She was among one of the first tofight for civil rights, and create an equal, non-segregated society.

Beyond all other items, this was a major contributionto not only my life but so many lives around me.

Half of me wishes Grandma were still around so I could talkto her about the book. It doesn’tsurprise me what side she must have taken in regard to equality, yet I do solong to hear her opinion of living it first hand. Part of me is grateful I hadn’t read it until after her passing(although within a month of it), because it feels as though our visit has beenextended, and perhaps giving the foresight and clarity to appreciate this remarkablebook in a way that it was intended.

1st Impression = Important
Create a friend in 5 minutes, by showing interest in THEIR interests.
SMILING demonstrates confidence and folks SMILE back.
Eye Contact = builds trust.
Enthusiasm creates excitement. Aim for 1 notch higher than the customer. Otherwise it'll turn them off.

Dancing With The Stars Does Not Only Have 2 Left Feet

Be Teachable. Nobody digs a know-it-all.
Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone. Otherwise, how do you expect to grow?
Sell It. Folks get points for attitude, so bring it in the best form you got.
Stay Focused. Distractions will pop out of every corner. Don't let distractions steal your dreams.
Knock It Out Of The Park. Give it everything you've got and you'll conquer your fears, for the cure to fear is action. The two cannot simultaneously coexist.

You can even apply these tips to wellness, writing, shooting or any variety of worthy pursuits.

Ever Had a ‘Kill-Me-Now’ Moment?

My dear friend, Kim, gifted me the book After You’d Gone by Maggie O’Farrell. It was one of the sweetest gesturesimaginable. Rather than send me a cardin the mail, she sent a few books, knowing my fetish for paper and books. She had chosen a few of her own andpersonalized the gift.

How thoughtful!

I felt like I was floating when I’d received them. There is no better joy that sharing bookswith friends who mean the world to you.

The emotional experience of this book is beyond mostreadings I’ve participated in previously. You feel with great description, the many twists and turns that areinvolved in a family with many secrets, true love, death and the various wayspeople erode invisible barriers, heal and fix their hearts.

The point that drove home for me was the importance ofenjoying our loved ones while they are with us. Particularly with the recent passing of my grandmother, it is imperativewe appreciate our loved ones now.

A very wise man by the name of Dave Severn gave thefollowing quote after losing his wife of over 40 years.

“Every night, before you go to sleep, hold your significantother close and tell them how much you love them. Then hold them like you meanit.”

It is also beneficial to learn how to utilize more emotionin my writing. This is an area I amwilling to improve in my future works.

Up late the night before, with intense conversations about demons, fallen angels and spirit guides.

Who could blame me

10:00 a.m. - Woke up early (for me) for Russian Caravan Black Tea (smells like campfire-no joke) coupled with business and writing.

1:00 p.m. - Snag my potential step son for shopping, Pinkberry, a lesson in pumping gas, cooking up a storm (orange chicken- thanks Mom for the recipe!), family time over not one but two friendly (land-mine infested) games of Skip Bo and Lost reruns.

9:30 p.m. - As everyone heads off in different directions for sleep and whatnot, it's reading time for me.

One Chapter Nonfiction (Currently reading POP by Sam Horn).

Is it time to sleep? Oh no, the night is just getting started. With Zumba and Tweeting on the horizon.

When A Writer Designs A Eulogy

The Eulogy I Gave In Memory of Frances Elizabeth Moulds Marquis on November 20, 2011

Dear Sweet Grandma,

In celebration of life, we gather one final time in honorof your memory.

I have one final gift for you. It could not have been givenat a more perfect time. It is the gift of Significance.

By Significance, I mean that you put things in the rightplaces during your time here.

Today, your children, grandchildren, extended family andfriends get to marvel without distraction at the magnificence and legacy ofyour life.

It’s an individual compliment, the sort of thing only eachof our solo journey’s can specifically articulate. Today, the authority I have is in sharingSignificance as it relates to my own life, and the way you put things in theright places during your time here.

LOVE

You taught me love.

Love is the most important thing in the world. There was never a day you did not love me. You lived every day to ensure all of usgathered here could stand on your shoulders , live longer, see further andexperience more life than you did. Inthe end, Love is all that matters.

ACCEPTANCE

You taught me acceptance.

During a particularly ornery time in my life, I brought adear friend with me to visit you. He was a kind and wonderful person, yet theleft side of his body was covered in graphic Daunte Inferno tattoos. The first thing I said after introducing youwas pointed out his tattoos.

“Do you see his tattoos? What do you think?” I asked, putting you on the spot.

You regarded them for a moment.

“They are beautiful,” you said.

You asked many questions without prejudice and my friend wenton to share the poem, Daunte’s Inferno changed his life and gave him a passionfor English. Through this poem, he was inspired to study English in College andbecome an English Teacher.

I learned more from that response than you ever knew. The many times I’ve come across a someone Ididn’t understand, rather than judge them, I remembered your words, “They arebeautiful.”

That was the secret to my success in working with so manytroubled populations. For some, it wasthe first time someone recognizing the light inside them.

PEACE

You taught me peace. I would fall asleep when I was young as you rubbed my back, listening toevery last word I shared. Like an oasisno matter the storm, that is something that never left me. This came full circle on our final daytogether. We shared our loving words andheld hands and you fell asleep as I kissed your face and demonstrated I’dmastered the peace you shared with me so many years ago.

LAUGHTER

You enjoyed my sense of humor. You could appreciate a jokeand nothing gave me such joy as to have you rolling on some hilariousstatement. When Mom was there, thelaughter and joking was amplified. Thereis something so special about three generations being in harmony. I’m going to be classy enough to not sharethose jokes here, but know that Grandma’s appreciation for wackiness and beingoutside the box, was fully intact.

PASSION

Bonding with nature at the oceans, hiking, boating, andengaging in your passion be it writing, dancing, gymnastics or healthsupplements. Thank you for alwaysbelieving in me and convincing me of my gifts.

You encouraged me no matter how ridiculous some may haveconsidered it. You were never the personto tell me I couldn’t do something. WhenI wanted to read half the books in California, you were the person who took meto the library each day as I attempted to read one book every evening.

COURAGE

You taught me about Bravery. Our final conversation, I told you, “Grandma,don’t be scared.” For I know there is nothing but love, belonging and lightwhere she would be well received. Hereyes met mine, clearing for the first time all day. “I’m not.” She said.

Thank you for being patient with me and sharing in myexcitement over any challenge I overcame and being unafraid to face them withme.

I am grateful for the time I had with you. You gave me permission to live a greater lifethan I’d have lived without you being part of it. I miss you and I hope you areproud of me. I hope you feel rewarded for all you accomplished during yourlifetime and recognize yours was a life well lived. Thank you for the piecesyou put in the right places.

You are loved and remembered for always.

My On-Sight Black Friday- Walmart vs Target

I conducted an analysis of Wal-mart vs Target during the morning of Black Friday. I drove by Best Buy for good measure. Check out the line there!

At both locations, I price compared the following items: Games, Kitchenware Items and Photography Accessories. I checked DVD selection as well as the pricing of those items.

1 Point was awarded to each store in each category (1 Point for each enticing DVD).

Bonus points were awarded for any pleasant surprises that crossed my path and I played special attention to store management procedures. Here are the results:

Wal-mart

Games - Games reviewed were each $1 lower in price than the competitor - 1 Point awarded.
Kitchen Ware Items - All items reviewed were located, yet no hook ups- .5 Points awarded.
Photography Accessories - All items reviewed were located, yet not on sale - .5 Points awarded.
DVD Selection - Good and easily accessible. I found 3 titles I was interested to purchase. - 3 Points Awarded.

Management of Event - You could tell a significant amount of planning went into this event. There were well-decorated bins all over and the main travel aisles were clear of clutter. Yet that is where the nice comments stop. All major items were brought out individually by Team Members at the Electronics Desk. The customers were confused as to where to get in line and it was unorderly. Upon reaching the Electronics Customer Service Desk, another Team Member would run to the back and retrieve the item the customer asked for. This was a safety risk and the Team Members were stressed out, often shouting toward one another in ineffective attempts to communicate. Needless to say, not one Team Member even made eye contact, let alone offered to help. Nice try, good ideas, yet poorly executed. Additionally, the check out line at the front of the store was rolled into 1. When I left at 1:00 a.m., customers had to weave in and out of 27 aisles to reach the Team Members appointing them to registers. It was very Fry's Electronics style. - 1 Point awarded.

How To Make Miracles Happen

Dad, Me, Brother

I had a conversation with my Dad. This is a big deal.

Back in January, I almost lost him due to kidneyfailure. He was in between worlds andchose to come back and continue life a while longer. For this reason, I feel that every day withhim is a miracle.

While not conscious for several weeks, I wrote journalentries about how he would return to us healthy and strong. I came across another one, when he wasstruggling to figure out what was going on when he woke up.

I wrote about how amazing he mentally beganto function, how his personality would return peacefully and full of life. He would return to us and we would bereunited.

The miracle took place.

It’s not the first time this kind of experience has happenedto me. How else could I have landed such an incredible relationship?

I spent several months before landing a guy by writing it down ad describing what our life was like. As though wishing on a star, it all came true.

Every day with my guy and every day with my Dad is a great one. It's like we've stolen back time.

Dad taught me about dreams, to appreciate when people whohave passed on can visit us and we get extra time with them in our dreams.

What's Not To Love?

Out with the old, in with the new, now that Halloween has made it's exit, I felt the urge to talk about the things I love.

I am so happy with a handful of miracle-products that have found their way into my home. The first is called, Greens, a detoxifying alkalizing powder that promotes pH balance within the body by utilizing 38 herbs and superfoods (equivalent to 8+ servings of fruit and veggies... Bomb!) Oh, and it tastes amazing in orange juice.

Second, this incredible 30% of my fat intake blaster called Fat Fighter.

Third, Defining Gel that is smoothing out the cellulite faster than I can pack it back on. Word on the street is that it diminishes the appearance of varicose veins, along with tightening, toning and hydrating that beautiful skin we wear.

The reason I find these products so exciting, is because I have a daily hankering for my local PinkBerry. Or as my brother calls it... "PinkBelly."

Yet CAN you blame me? My staple is the coconut with kiwi, mangoes and I'll alternate strawberries and blueberries...sometimes both! Never do I forget the swirl of honey on top, which everyone at "PinkBelly" agrees, "Makes everything taste better."

Besides, before I found Greens, it helped folks stay regular. Just sayin'.

So I've got to admit, I don't actually know what could be more fun than those two little piggies riddled in paint (!) but I'll come up with something.

Hero of the Week Move: The award doesn't actually go to my rocking boyfriend this week. Surprise, I know. Not because he is not awesome (because he is...and there are still fresh flowers at our place which is somewhat of a miracle). The simple fact, is that my brother just won out this week! Even with his creepy Paranormal Activity 3 impressions and teasingly calling my second love, "Pink Belly," he still won and here is how.

This weekend, we attended a business conference in Portland. The heroic move, was that my brother drove the entire time. That was a long trek and he had no complaints, was never unsafe and kept a fantastic attitude the whole time throughout. He's the man. Second runner up is my friend, Shar, who let us stay at her place. I freaking love that girl!

And speaking of Paranormal... that was a brief highlight. While driving from Sacramento, we came into Redding the same time the movie began. So we hopped out of the car for a brief intermission.

I'll tell you one thing, it was a piece of cake to stay awake after that. I don't think I've had a full night's sleep since.

Onto lighter news, most people know that although I am a writer, I am also an avid reader. I typically read at least 2 books at a time, one nonfiction for self improvement purposes and one fiction to keep this happy clam entertained.

I'd like to send out a quick word about motivation.

Success is a series of good decisions made one after the other. Not doing what you know needs to be done...is easier. The fear of moving forward, paralyzes.

The solution? Get a Dream. Create something you want so bad you don't get distracted.

Success is not a game of chance. Excitement leads to activity. Activity leads to productivity and ultimately profitability. Yet success means nothing without love. Love conquers all. It's not "a" thing. It's "the" thing.

Let your ego go. Evaluate what you want your life to be about. You are currently as young as you will ever be. Define who and what you want to become. As you grow, you'll find it's okay to redefine yourself from time to time.

Your power and your spirit can inspire others. Success is a mindset. Your mindset changes the outcome or keeps it the same. Persistence eliminates fear. Fear is the true root of all evil. Fear that creates paralysis. Fear of disappointment, of imagined obstacles and barriers that keep you from your dreams and your full potential.

Make decisions quickly and implement them slowly. Match your desire with your willpower. Your future is anything you can imagine. Be bold.

It taking all this in...according to Dale Carnegie, he suggested we live in day-tight compartments. This keeps worry from taking over our lives or holding us back in the wrong way. Just live each day the best you can. Don't let tomorrow infringe on today. Know where you are going and why. Find the balance between making the progress you can and taking care of yourself. Burning out is not the goal.

Laundry, Advice and Post

I wrote 3 pages of items to include in my blog this week - 3 pages! And I lost them all. Thumbs down, but it's alright because this keeps the blog much shorter for readers to get through. The funny thing, is items I lose have a habit of showing back up just in time for me not to need them anymore.

If I trashed this blog, for example, my notes would turn up the next day.

What's point of having a pen and paper always handy if your chicken scratch goes on vacation without you? I could really use a vacation! Let me tell you why.

Laundry isn't my favorite. I'm known for frequenting 'fluff and fold' services at local laundromats more often than grocery shopping. I've made it a point, after receiving some pretty fabulous feedback from my brother.

"If you are really serious about your #1 life goal of being debt free... it would be a step in the right direction to give that up right now."

I think he's got a point. It was my goal for 2011 to be debt free by the end of the year. Here we are and it's November, and I am nowhere near close. A few more good tips and I'll be well on my way. I've already got the automatic bill pay down and I stopped buying things to make me happy. Instead I got a really cool boyfriend.

Yet I can tell you one thing for sure. Laundry at our house is one of the most inefficient chores imaginable. I want to choke out our dryer.

You have to dry 'half' loads, 3 times before you take it out. Neither me nor he is a laundering novice, the machine is just plain lazy. I guess I can't put it down, since I'm such an advocate of Dr. Seuss's philosophy.

Speaking of faults of mine, another...is the Post Office. Why does it take me so long to mail crap? If you are the victim of this mindless procrastinational mystery- I apologize.

I should stop the madness and end the cycle but the challenge is steep.

Since I always try to end my blogs with something comical, here you go. This is what I think of every time I hear about Dancing With The Stars. No offense to fans, but the whole things seems like a big bonefest.

Fond Farewells, Shaving Heads, Sassy Pumpkins & The Blair Witch

Final Christmas 2010

My mother, Judy, and Grandma, Fran

I am back to the Blog after a brief siesta to handle some personal loss.

My Grandma, Fran Marquis, passed on, at age 83.

She had stories, history and experiences to share with everyone she encountered...as well as opinions (just like most people) and lots of love. She was the person who encouraged my passion for writing. The first poem I ever wrote, I wrote for her. Then I went on to win 27 poetry awards for various pieces (I later included in a book I dedicated to her).

She may never have been able to stomach the sass and gruesome details of my novel, Befriending Death. However, I can guarantee she would have appreciated the imagery of the sexiness.

I once wrote a book in my Grandma Fran's honor- Life, Love and Inspiration: A Book of Poetry.

Another recent undesirable development, one of my cousins and very best friends has received a serious diagnosis and the treatment involves a high potential result of hair loss. When people ask me about the scarf on my head...or the hat or lack of my hair, the answer is that I am donating mine as she loses hers. .

Rather than allow her to undergo this crap on her own, I am going to donate my hair, and will wear is shorter than historically witnessed. I told her I would support the experience so she would feel we were more part of a secret society. She and I have been partners in crime on more than one adventure, risque location or vacation. This will just be another experience for the books.

Once upon a time, we began recording the hilarity of our adventures with the intention of throwing a book together. Perhaps I'll share a handful of those stories in the near future. In dire times, the ability to keep things light is priceless.

Death is so scary to people. I can't blame them, many believe they turn to ash when the lights go out. I believe something very different, yet if this is the case, I'd still wish to live my life the way I do. Even if the only people who will ever care are the handful reading this blog. What happens beyond what I have control over...aka...the afterlife, will never take away from my wish to extend an extra courtesy or squeeze in an extra laugh. In dire times, the ability to keep things light is priceless.

It's amazing how people can bond on a whole new level when death is involved. The finality of it. In those final moments, and it was no different in the case of my Grandma... nothing is unforgiven. All quarrels and miscommunication are set aside in response to the magnitude of what truly matter.

All that matters in final moments is Love.

Which is why My Guy and I, as well as his son, all got lost in the World's Largest Corn Maze this week.

We spent some time reenacting the final scenes from Blair Which Project.

Look Out- I'm Writing Again! Costumes, Babies, Valuable Lessons Learned While Serial-Dating and Funny Vid's

Lets talk about something more fun. Costumes. What are you planning to be this year for Halloween?

My inspiration has come back into the limelight. This was brought on by three amazing friends from the past, who came back into my life recently and re-inspired my love for writing, hiking and adventure... Kim, Casey and Katie- I cannot thank you enough.

Being turned back on to your passion is priceless and I am thankful.

A common question I've been getting: Where have I been?

Doing wraps because they are amazing, helping waists tone, trim and tighten all over the Sacramento Valley. Granted, I'm passionate about helping people look better and live longer, but something caught my attention and I can't shake it without taking a pause to speak on a certain set of situations people are finding themselves in.

If you don't belong with someone- don't hook up with them. Are we seriously so lonely we will sabotage the good in us by pairing up with someone who brings out the darkness in our heart? It may feel brightened initially because of the illusion of acceptance, but I can tell you that this leads down a long, tormented road of unhappiness.

I'm not judging because everyone knows, I'm a classically trained serial-dater. However. I'm cured and life before now....sucked. You shouldn't have to learn by making every mistake, right?

What is the test? How do you know whether the person you are with is Keeper-material? It's so easy, it's like breathing and you'll know the answer right away.

How do your friends and family feel about this person? (Most of the time) They have your best interest at heart. They don't like who you have hooked up with, there is a decent chance you've not landed your ideal.

You want the people in your life to be cheering with all the thumbs up they can manage. Even if you don't see it now, I hope you will in the near future.

Hero of the Week Move:

My Guy took my brother and a bunch of his friends shooting on 2 1/2 hours of sleep. If that's not love, I don't know what it. The fact I am so important to him he was willing to invest in creating great memories with my family and friend made a huge impression.

My phone blew up with texts: "Your Boyfriend is the F-ing Man!" and "What a Great Guy!"

Life is the most incredible thing and we all have the power to create whatever we want. That is what I'm doing now, I scratched everything. If it isn't worth doing, I scratch it again.

If I had $5.00 for every time someone told me I would never find happiness and what I wanted wasn't out there...that I lived in fantasy-land...I'd be able to buy us all real estate (especially now).

Those Dream-Stealers Were WRONG!

I am done settling! I want the awesome relationship, perfect health, emotional maturity, laughter and joy, wellness in my mind and spiritual connection that I can depend on and that feels right for me. I want the career I lose sleep thinking about and the means to bless all of the important lives around me. I want a fantastic spousal relationship, great family and the best friends the world has to offer.

And I am really freaking close. Where are you at on that journey? Are you so excited about your future you can't sit still? Or are you trying to figure out where to go next? Some people are just content being where they are and that's fine too. I only get one shot at this life thing...and I really want it to be something awesome.

I was telling my friend Katie today about an experience I had in India- a dream about mountain landscapes.

The biggest lesson I learned in India, was that our lives are not intended to be cubby-hole-style. It is like a mountain landscape masterpiece...one that we are so rich in...regardless if anyone sees it. The only thing that matters is that you see it. This is a life well lived by my own description and what I am in the process of achieving.

Yet there must be laughter and joy along the way. Hope and happiness. Giggles and silliness. So in closing I have the following items to share with you.

3 Inches Gone?!! I Stumbled Across a Sweet Hollywood Secret!

I'm not one for dieting (I mean, come on. it's got the word "die" in it!), and I am not one of those people who has struggled with weight loss battles. Yet, as a promoter for a body applicator wrap, I wanted to make sure it was legit. I knew it was all-natural (botanically-based), and detoxified fat cells and by releasing the toxins. In this way the weight safely comes off.

Four of my friends were clamoring to get their hands on one but I held off to make sure it really worked and no crazy side effects were involved.

Inspiration Comes From Friends, Dance, Dreams and Fainting Goats

Where does my inspiration come from?

I get this question all the time. No one is talking about how I choreographed my latest zumba routine or where I found the words for that 'Thank You' card. Nope. People want to know about the corny, sexy, haunting, hilarious scenes from my stories and dialogue.

It comes from you. Here's an example.

Yesterday, my friend Brandon, this brilliant scientist friend of mine, posted a segment on a student being freaked out by balloons. That might be an understatement. More truthfully, PETRIFIED of balloons.

I started thinking to myself, now that is far too interesting to just disappear in a segment. Obviously, it should be included in something so I never forget about it.

According to Urban Dictionary (my #1 terminology reference guide)

Globophobia: "A persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of balloons, despite the understanding by the phobic individual and reassurance by others that there is no danger; a strong fear of, dislike of, or aversion to balloons."

I can't wait to include this little character development in one of my upcoming stories.

I also find inspiration through a sense of humor and skill, intelligence and brilliance brought to life. Such as demonstrated by my friend, Sean Stephenson, below:

A little animal hilarity thrown into the mix...

The end result? I have a balloon-fearing, motivational speaking, fainting-goat harvesting character by the name of Dennis who will appear in an upcoming novel.

In this way, inspiration, similar to the death of a loved one, will go on forever.

Perhaps you can relate. My mind can't sit still. Almost ever.

According to Urban Dictionary: The word Montagged indicates:

When someone botches something so completely and terribly, that it can only be compared to Heidi Montag's abysmally poorly lip synced, poorly danced, total failure of a Britney rip off performance at the 2009 Miss Universe pageant.

So where does my blog fit into all of this? Life sometimes feels like one botch after another. I vote, we laugh together.

For me, this often comes in the form of dreams. My dreams are unpredictable, vivid, lucid, wild and traumatizing at times. By writing them down I not only harnessed the characters of my novels but developed a story that stayed true to their characters.

Some can plan their dreams but not I. Yesterday I attended the most beautiful wedding I have seen in ages, my dream last night was about my Mom throwing snakes on my back.

While pondering how to bring in these distressful times and appropriately weave the content into the sequel of Befriending Death… Beyond Death… I have been starting off with some yoga and following up with some zumba.

Staying in good physical shape keeps your mind active and your ability to focus intact.

Wedding Bells, Adopt-a-thons and Tax Write-Offs

The pictures of trying on rings while dream-building with My Guy in Las Vegas yielded a ton popular congrats and thank you to those who care. However, there is no engagement and the subject of Weddings this week will fall to two other couples getting married this week.

True and genuine congrats to my Uncle Jim and Kate, as well as Tyler and Mallory. I look forward to celebrating with good times and good cheer.

Although when I do get hitched, I would love to have bridesmaids holding puppies. Can you imagine the write off benefits of hosting a SPCA Adopt-a-thon on My Guy and I’s big day? My Tax Guy might shake my hand and high five me for innovation.

Although when you write (and can do so on or about anywhere), you become a walking, talking write off. There is no harm in that.

Verbal Blog Mishap Due To Kidnapping & Vegas Recommendations

The momentary lapse in Verbal Blogs has been due to the kidnapping of my phone in Las Vegas during the 2011 Book Tour Las Vegas.
Other casualties included my Driver’s License, Debit Cards, Light-Up Lip Glosses and Reef brand Flip Flops complete with a bottle opener on the bottom.
Sometimes life hands us lemons. When this happens to me, I like to refer to a little inspiration.

When life handed me a lemon, not only did I make lemonade, I also wrote the recipe and then sold that recipe!

The good news is the 2011 Book Tour Las Vegas was a HUGE success.

Minus 5 Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay - Drink from real ice classes imported from New Zealand.
Rice at Luxor - Sushi and Asian cuisine. The food is brilliant.
